Please note The Liver Care Meal Plan is not medicine nor a substitute to medicine. It is the right nutrition that supports the medication suggested by your vet.Ā

For dogs diagnosed with canine liver disease, the right diet is one of the most effective ways to allow healing of the liver. It helpsĀ in reducing stress on the liver and gives dogs the energy to recover. It also helps minimize potential complications such as hepatic encephalopathy,Ā and inhibits liver damage from the accumulation of substances such as copper.Ā

Our Liver Care meal has been developed by a veterinary doctor.Ā

NOM Pro Tip
Try to feed your dog several times a day. Stick to smaller meals that are fed 4-5 times over the course of a day, to make it easier on the stomach and decrease the amount of nutrition the liver has to process at a time.

IngredientsĀ

TheĀ meal is made from all-natural, fresh ingredients. It contains chicken,Ā tofu, pumpkin, green beans, carrots,Ā peas,Ā brown rice, turmeric, eggshell powder, flax seeds, sesame seeds, coconut oil.

Low inĀ Protein
It important to use high quality protein sources. A mix of plant and animalĀ proteinĀ like tofu and lean cuts of chicken is ideal. This ensures ease of digestibility and the dog gets the nutritional boost needed to thrive.

Low inĀ Copper
When the liver is compromised, toxins and waste may build up in the body. Enhanced levels of copper have an adverse effect on the liver and the dog’s health. Hence, food with high levels of copper is avoided.

Soluble Fat
Easily digestible fats like coconut oil are easier for the liver to process. One of the reasons why only cold pressed virgin coconut oil is used in our meals.

High Quality Carbohydrates
High quality carbohydrates help aid your dog’s digestion since they are rich in fiber. They also help remove ammonia from the dog’s system.

Treatment for your dog's liver issue will be based upon the severity of your dog’s medicalĀ case, ageĀ and overall health. In most cases, treatment for this condition includes dietary restrictions and medications. Please note that our food is not medicine. It is the right nutrition that supports the medication suggested by your vet.
